STANDING SEAM ROOFING
The Purlin Mill not only manufactures zee and cee purlins, but produces a concealed fastener, architectural standing seam roofing panel, SSR-218. This mechanically seamed panel has factory applied non-skinning butyl mastic for superior weather-tightness and provides an excellent defense against air and water infiltration.
Standing seam roofing panels are most commonly specified for low slope and architectural applications. This particular panel is specified in many commercial and residential applications.
SSR-218 CONTINUED
The SSR-218 panel incorporates a concealed fastener clip that removes the need for exposed fasteners and allows for thermal expansion and contraction.
The panel clips are available in a variety of heights to work with your specific insulation requirements.
These structural panels can be installed over open framing, solid substrates or rigid insulation.
The SSR-218 is available with or without striations.
The team at the Purlin Mill is focused on providing high-quality products with fast turnaround at competitive pricing.

- 1. Theoretical section properties have been calculated per AISI 2012 “Specifications for the Design of Cold-formed Steel Structural Members.” Ix and Sxx are effective section properties for deflection and bending.
- 2. Allowable load is calculated in accordance with AISI 2012 specifications considering bending, shear, combined bending and shear, deflection and ASTM 1592 uplift testing. Allowable load considers the 3 or more equal span condition. Allowable load does not address web crippling or fasteners/support connection. Panel weight is not considered.
- 3. Deflection consideration is limited by a maximum deflection ratio of L/180 of span.
- 4. Allowable loads do not include a 1/3 stress increase in uplift.
